Tie-Dye Instructions

It’s time to unveil your tie dye t-shirt!

Make sure the tie dye shirt has soaked for 24 hours.

Use a bucket or washing sink to rinse your shirt. Remove the shirt from the zip lock bag. Rinse it under cold water to remove excess dye. Rinse until the water runs clear. Then, wash the item (separately from other items) in the washing machine on a cold or warm cycle with a mild detergent, turning the garment inside out. Avoid using fabric softener. Finally, air dry or tumble dry on low.

Detailed Instructions:

1. Initial Rinse

Rinse the tie-dyed item under cold water to remove excess dye. This prevents redepositing of dye.

2. Soaking (Optional)

Some people recommend soaking the item in cold water until the water runs clear.

3. Washing

Wash the tie-dye item in the washing machine separately or with like colors. Use a mild detergent, avoiding bleach or brighteners. Choose a cold or warm water setting and the smallest load size.

4. Drying

Air dry the tie-dye item or tumble dry on low. Avoid fabric softener as it can affect the dye.

5. First Few Washes

For the first few washes, consider using cold water to prevent fading and wash the tie-dye separately to avoid transferring dye to other clothes.
